Lakeland, FL Event Recap
Friday night action at the Lakeland Events Center started out with a bang as Prowler, driven by Lenny Kuilder, was the fastest qualifier, allowing him to receive a bye-run in Round 1 of racing.
The Chicago-Style racing setup in the small Lakeland Events Center proved to be very challenging, as team truck Predator, driven by Allen Pezo, would be victorious in claiming the Friday night racing win.
Dan Runte behind the wheel of Bigfoot got the house going by taking the doughnut contest win that was judged by the fans.
Bigfoot went into freestyle after a solid doughnut performance, Runte would claim the freestyle win, but not before challenging Jim Jack in Reptoid during his run, ending the night with a two truck freestyle finally.
Saturday night AMP TOUR switched gears and featured a wheelie contest instead of racing qualifying. Dan Runte in Bigfoot was the wheelie winner, receiving a bye run in Round-1.
Lenny Kuilder in Prowler was the side-by-side racing winner, with Dan Runte in Bigfoot grabbing the 2nd position racing win. Allen Pezo in Predator stacked a claim for 3rd place in a side-by-side grudge match between Bigfoot.
For the second night in a row, Dan Runte rocked the house with an insane donut, grabbing the overall doughnut win.
Freestyle was remarkable and one that Lakeland fans will always remember. All trucks did a single freestyle performance. Bigfoot wrestled up some trouble during his performance, calling out not only Reptoid again, but also Predator. 3 Monster Trucks were freestyling together at the same time in Lakeland, a first at an AMP TOUR event. The crowd picked Bigfoot as the freestyle winner, leaving Lakeland fans standing on their toes.
