FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OCTOBER 4, 2008 - Scottsdale, AZ - AMP Live Events did it again as the AMP TOUR Monster Truck Thunder Slam show hit the Tucson Convention Center with a bang! Action went down in three different segments featuring 8 of the biggest and baddest Monster Trucks on the AMP TOUR circuit.

Wheelie competition, combined with drag racing, and freestyle, entertained the Tucson crowd both nights with action packed performances by all of the teams. The fans of Tucson were not disappointed either with an all out Monster Trucks only show - no side acts, just Monster Truck action!

Friday night action saw 18 year old prodigy Murphy McCrory win the wheelie contest driving McGruff, against a veteran field of trucks with nearly 100 years of combined experience. McCrory credited his father, veteran driver Ron Wood, for encouraging him to lay down the power, and that's what he did. Standing the truck 90 degrees vertical sent him away with the wheelie win thanks to the Tucson fans. Rob French won Saturday night wheelie action with a truck pulling to the left upon impact of the crush cars, getting way high in the air, confirming the name sake of his truck, Twisted Dragon.

The monster truck side by side drag racing competition was explosive to say the least. In the first night of tournament bracket style racing the two men pulling up to the line for the championship race were father and son. Gary Shot Jr from San Diego, CA a 21 year old with seven years experience driving Unnamed Untamed truck of Sturgis Racing out of Tucson. Gary Shot Sr, San Diego, CA a twenty four year racing veteran owner/driver in the other lane in Terminator. In a photo finish Gary Shot Sr was the victor over his son. Shot Sr gave credit to the new $200,000.00 machine he was driving at only the third race the truck has performed. Saturday night drags saw home town contender Rod Wood in McGruff take a bite out of crime defeating Terminator in the final race. In the winner’s circle interview Wood admitted he got a bigger kick out of seeing his son win in the truck the night before than winning himself. That statement received heartfelt applause from his home town crowd.

America's favorite monster truck competition has been the freestyle events across the nation. In Tucson Rob French won both nights by the fans decision.

The wild and unpredictable driver awed the house with monster truck carnage over crush cars forward and backwards, no handed monster hurricanes and pure altitude in a powerful truck that has been obviously beat to hell by the lead footed French. French’s victories were hard earned with great performances by Nasty Boy with owner driver Ronny Sturgis of Tucson who was runner up in almost every competition every time. French’s wife Kelly Carrington in Bullet Proof was another crowd favorite.

Over all the show was well appreciated by fans considering the nonstop action, drivers’ skill and no break downs due to a line up with top quality trucks. The family participation as well as family entertainment may have been a factor as well considering two father son pairs and a married couple in the competition. The monster truck industry obviously continues to grow as 2nd and 3rd generation drivers are starting to appear. AMP Live Events monster trucks without a doubt attacked Tucson with everything they had, well done.
